April 2025 Referendum
Building a brighter future for Pine River-Backus Schools
At Pine River-Backus Schools, we provide a great education our region can be proud of. Our commitment to our community is to manage our buildings and maintain the great education our students deserve and residents expect.
Our students do their best when they have a safe, healthy and supportive place to learn. By investing in our school buildings, we invest in student growth, excellence, and success.
We have worked hard to take good care of our buildings. But they are aging, and some structural and mechanical systems are nearing the end of their useful life and must be replaced or repaired.
If we do not address our aging systems now, we will face costly repairs in the near future as these systems begin to fail and the cost to replace them continues to grow.
On April 8, residents in our district will be asked to vote on a 2.75% capital projects levy.
If approved by voters, the levy would provide $896,000 a year for 10 years to support essential repairs and upgrades to school buildings, invest in technology equipment and staff, and keep our vehicle fleet working and safe for our students.
